I'm replacing a leaky shower faucet while retiling a shower. There is not an access panel on the other side of the shower wall, so the faucet will be inaccessible when I'm done. What brand of faucet would you recommend to hopefully avoid and problems for many, many years?
Thanks, Neal |

Personally, I would go with a Symmons or Delta. They have been around for years. The plus side to delta faucets is that you can change the guts easily and can get them just about anywhere.
Hope this helps. Ken |

I absolutely agree on the Deltas. I own some rental properties and I ALWAYS install a Delta when the old valve gets to the point where it's not repairable. They're over $100 with the trim kit but the guts are just so darned easy to change in the future that the price is worth it. Also, be sure to ask for the one WITH built-in shutoffs. It makes servicing much easier in the future. You can just remove the front decorative ring and stick a screwdriver in there and shutoff both supply lines. No more turning off the house supply just to service the shower.

Thanks for the suggestion on using Delta products. I will have to try them out.

Hi,
I use a lot of HANSGROHE faucets here in Finland. They've turned out to be really reliable on long term use. I bet they are sold in the U.S. too.
